Aspírian primarily offers services through consultation packages that provide guidance through the entire college admissions process. However, hourly consultations are offered for those who only want advice and guidance on specific areas as they maneuver through the college admissions process.
What are hourly consultation sessions?
Hourly consultation sessions are geared toward students who only desire specific guidance in preparing for and applying to college.
Students are billed per hour for online sessions and review work by the consultant.
There are several different areas of hourly consultation sessions that students can choose from to assist in their college admissions process. (see below)
Once a contract has been signed acknowledging the expectations of both parties, and services are paid for, we can focus on the student’s educational goals and begin consultation sessions.
Who is this for?
9th-12th grade students interested in going to college that don’t need guidance through the entire admissions process.
What are the Benefits of Aspírian Hourly Consultation Sessions

- A confidence boost in students who are seeking to complete the admissions process.
- Alleviation of strain between parents and student that sometimes occurs when trying to meet deadlines and make decisions that will impact the future, as there is a professional guiding your child.
What areas of hourly consultation sessions are offered?
Essay assistance
We will brainstorm topic ideas to capture a personal story that will intrigue the reader. We will also proofread your essay and provide feedback that will enhance your essay to have a clear and sequential thought process.
Financial aid guidance
We will review the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form with you, as well as give you the tools needed to calculate the total cost per year of college and post-graduate payments. Even if you don’t qualify for federal aid, we can still give you guidance needed to make a financially sound decision as to what college you should attend.
Learning style evaluation
We conduct learning style inventories to determine what the best environment is for your learning and studying. Questions such as: Are you a visual or audio learner?, Do you study best in groups or solo?, and Are you organized will be answered?. We will help establish priorities on class attendance, time management, and forming great studying habits.
Personality and career assessments
We will conduct a personality and skill assessment test that will give you confidence in determining your choice of college major and career field.
Interview coaching
We focus on simulated interview sessions, how to overcome stage fright, being fully prepared (having the best insight into the college and program you are interviewing for), and speaking articulately and confidently.
High school curriculum suggestions
We will explain the “College Preparatory Curriculum” and its importance. We will specifically look at how many math, science, history, and languages courses you will need to take, as well as the value of taking AP, IB, and Honors courses.
What Parents need to know
- The founder, Rachel Fretz-Cianci, has a strong background in college academic advising. Therefore, Aspírian has a strong focus on preparing students to not only get into the best fit college, but to be academically successful.
- Meetings will be held online, so there is no need to drive your child to his or her consulting sessions. Sessions will be recorded and can be reviewed at any time both by the student and parent.
- Sessions will only be with the student unless the parent is invited to join, usually for the financial aid sessions and final college decision sessions. This is meant for the student to be inspired to become independent and confident in their college decisions.
